The Princely Fürstenberg Court Library is a specialised scholarly library. It contains round about 20.000 books.

Its holdings focus on the regional history and local culture of the former Principality of Fürstenberg and the present-day federal state of Baden-Württemberg.

In addition, reference works, compendiums und essential literature on general history and – with a view to the art treasures belonging to the House of Fürstenberg and the Donaueschingen Festival – important art historical and musicological publications.
The library’s holdings are arranged for the most part in the Baroque stalls of the Max Egon Hall in the Fürstenberg Archive. They can be consulted in the reading room or borrowed with the usual lending period. The library takes part in the scholarly interlibrary loan system.
